Why I Love Nia:

I have a lust in this life for creativity and pleasure. I satisfy this urge in my work as an actor, with kids, in my relationships with creative humans and especially in my daily movement explorations. Nia is not only a sweaty, invigorating physical conditioning, but a means of expressing my true joy and individual creativity. Nia is guided by the pleasure principle – if the body feels good, accepted and loved, it will naturally become stronger and heal. Because of Nia, I have learned to feel GREAT in my body just as it is – strong, adventurous and flexible. Sharing this practice with like-minded souls feels simply phenomenal!

Why You Will Love Nia:

Nia dance is a delicious blend of both choreography and freeform movement into a 60-minute aerobic fitness flow class. Nia emphasizes community, self-discovery and individual expression. Practiced barefoot to diverse music, each person in invited to move at his or her own level of intensity, adapting the dance to their body’s potential at any given moment. Nia is an ageless and limitless, transformational and effective dance practice for every body, everywhere.

“Excersize that’s done strictly for its own physical sake, divorced from the emotions and human spirit, isn’t satisfying, isn’t fun, and eventually fails.  To feel good enough to last a lifetime, an excersize regimen must satisfy the heart and soul.”
